Man charged with murder in Humboldt Park shooting

Carlos Rivera, 18, who is charged in a fatal shooting in Humboldt Park in July, is scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
Rivera, of the 3900 block of West Wrightwood, is charged with first-degree murder in the July 13 shooting death of Fernando Sanchez, 25, in the 3700 block of West Le Moyne, according to Chicago Police News Affairs. Sanchez was standing on the sidewalk about 1:50 a.m. when a man approached from an alley and opened fire in a gang-related attack, police said at the time.
Sanchez, of the 3100 block of West Le Moyne Street, was shot in the abdomen and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died less than two hours later, authorities said.
