A man armed with a hammer robbed a bank Monday in northwest suburban Park Ridge.
The man entered the TCF Bank branch in the first block of West Devon and robbed it with a hammer, according to the FBI. He got away with an unknown amount of cash.
The robber was described as a white man, 5 feet, 10-inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build, the FBI said. He was wearing a white hat, white shirt, white jeans, black sunglasses and carrying a backpack.
The FBI classified the theft as a non-take-over robbery, and no injuries were reported. A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
