HARVARD — Police in northern Illinois were investigating after a 17-year-old girl and 19-year-old man were found dead in a Harvard backyard.
Harvard Police Chief Daniel Kazy-Garey said his department was treating the deaths as a homicide investigation. Neither victim was immediately identified, but police say they both were Harvard residents. Officials say officers responded to the home early Thursday and found the victims unresponsive. The man was pronounced dead at a hospital. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say there’s no risk to the general public. They are investigating, along with the McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team.
Harvard is near the Wisconsin state line, about 70 miles northwest of Chicago.
