Driver who struck, killed 3-year-old boy cited

A motorist whose car struck and killed a 3-year-old boy late Saturday in the Archer Heights neighborhood was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a roadway, police said.
The boy was hit about 10:25 p.m. in the 3900 block of West 47th Street, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
The boy, identified as Jimmy Lomas, of Bellwood, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 11:11 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
