Teenager shot near elementary school in West Englewood

A 15-year-old boy was wounded Monday night when gunfire erupted near a West Englewood elementary school.

He was shot in his right leg about 10:40 p.m. Monday in the 6400 block of South Claremont, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The shooting occurred near Claremont Academy Elementary School, 2300 W. 64th St.

The boy was treated at Holy Cross Hospital, police said.
