A man was arrested after exposing himself and molesting a CTA bus driver early Wednesday in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The man complimented the 30-year-old female bus driver and then exposed himself while both were standing outside a CTA bus turn-around at Archer and Neva avenues, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
She rebuked his behavior and once the bus was back in service he made “inappropriate conduct” with her while she was driving, Mirabelli said.
The bus driver contacted police and the man fled west on Archer Avenue, Mirabelli said.
Chicago Lawn District police officers arrested Gabriel Hayes, 33, at 4:28 a.m. in the 7100 block of West Archer Avenue, Mirabelli said.
Hayes, of the 300 block of East 120th Place, was charged with aggravated battery of a transit employee and criminal sexual abuse, Mirabelli said.
Hayes is expected Thursday in bond court.
