Man shot running away from gunman on South Side

A man was shot multiple times after he got out of his car to run away from a gunman early Sunday on the South Side.

The man, 31, was sitting in his car when a shooter approached him, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

He got out of the vehicle and tried to run away, but the suspect shot him in the wrist, hand and buttocks, Greer said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he is in “stable” condition.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
