A Chicago man who allegedly threatened to blow up the Evanston Civic Center and police department building was arrested by Evanston Police on Thursday.

Vincente L. Alford, 33, of 7500 block of North Claremont., is charged with two counts of disorderly conduct/telephone harassment, a Class B misdemeanor.

Four calls to the Evanston Police Department between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Wednesday were made from a cellphone that was traced back to Alford, police said in a written statement.

According to police, Alford was upset about receiving a parking ticket earlier Wednesday.

He was scheduled to appear in 2nd Municipal District Court in Skokie on May 29.
