Man performing lewd act runs over guy in Niles parking lot

A Niles man told police he was hit by a car driven by a man who had been exposing himself just seconds earlier.
According to Niles Police, the 34-year-old victim was in a parking lot in the 7200 block of Dempster on April 19 when his wife reported that a man sitting in a parked Hyundai appeared to be acting suspiciously.
The victim reported that the man was performing a lewd act in the car but attempted to cover himself with a piece of clothing, police said.
When the victim knocked on the passenger-side window of the car, the driver put the car in reverse, hitting the victim, who fell to the ground, police said. The man drove out of the parking lot and headed west on Dempster.
Police said the victim refused medical attention and didn’t get the car’s license plate information.
