Authorities are still searching for a 1-year-old boy who was reportedly abducted Tuesday from west suburban Maywood.
Tuesday night authorities named three men who they believed took the child. However, Wednesday morning those men were cleared of wrongdoing, according to a release.
The boy, Bryeon Hunter, was with his mother about 2:15 p.m. when three suspects, described as Hispanic men, grabbed the boy near the intersection of 6th Avenue and Main Street, according to Maywood police and an Illinois AMBER Alert.
The men reportedly took the toddler and put him in a black, two-door sports car with tinted windows and drove off, Maywood police said.
The mother then went to the 300 block of South 10th in Maywood and called police, Maywood Police Chief Tim Curry said Tuesday. Officers interviewed Bryeon’s mother, who told them her son was taken by force during an attack. She also told investigators she argued with the same men several days ago.
The boy is described as about 2-feet tall and weighing 30 pounds, the alert said. Police say the boy has brown hair and brown eyes and just got a haircut.
He was wearing a two-toned blue striped long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and blue and brown Nike boots.
Maywood police are urging anyone with information to contact them at (708) 450-4471.
