Man found in apartment building laundry room with gunshot wound to chest

A man was in critical condition early Tuesday after he was found in the laundry room of a Chicago Lawn apartment building with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Police said the man was discovered Monday about 2:40 p.m., lying on the laundry room floor of the building, located in the 6500 block of South Maplewood Avenue.
The man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated. No further details were available.
