Nine people wounded in weekend violence

At least nine people have been wounded in violence in the city this weekend.
The most recent incident occurred about 10:40 p.m. when a man was injured in a shooting in the South Side Chatham neighborhood Saturday night.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was shot in the stomach in the 8100 block of South Eberhart Avenue, police said.
He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in “stable” condition, police said.
At 9 p.m. Saturday a male was shot in the left leg in the 8900 block of South Escanaba Avenue, police said.
His age, along with his condition and what hospital he was taken to, was not immediately available.
A 22-year-old man was shot multiple times on the 4800 block of West Thomas Street at about 5:45 p.m., police said. He was shot in the back, upper thigh and groin, police said.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, police said.
About 5:06 p.m. a 16-year-old boy was shot in the 400 block of North Lawler Avenue in the Austin neighborhood, fire media affairs said.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
An 18-year-old man was shot in the left leg just after 4 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of North Waller Avenue in the Austin neighborhood, authorities said.
The man was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood in “stable” but serious condition, according to fire media affairs.
About 3:47 p.m. a 25-year-old man was shot in the 6200 block of South Marshfield Avenue.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, according to fire media affairs.
Two men were stabbed early Saturday on the Near North Side.
The first stabbing happened about 3:40 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Clark Street when a man, believed to be in his 20s, was stabbed in the abdomen and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in an unidentified condition, police said.
About 4 a.m., another man, also thought to be in his 20s, was stabbed in the 600 block of North Clark Street, police said. The man suffered a stab wound to the torso and was taken in good condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
It was not immediately clear if the two stabbings were related.
A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg after leaving a party in the 10400 block of South Rhodes Avenue about 12:45 a.m. Saturday, police said. Police think the shooting may have been a drive-by attack because a dark-colored SUV was seen fleeing the area after he was shot.
A family member took the man to Roseland Community Hospital where he was treated in good condition for a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.
