A 33-year-old Chicago man was fatally shot Wednesday night on a South Side street by a gunman who rode in a van that the slain man had cursed at just moments before.
Charles Bush was near the 5900 block of South LaSalle Street when he yelled at a dark-colored van that passed him on the street about 7:50 p.m., police said. Moments later, a shooter got out of the van and opened fire, striking Bush multiple times in the abdomen, authorities said.
The gunman then got back in the van, which sped off, police said.
Bush, who lived nearby in the 5800 block of South Princetone, was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 11:05 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
No one was in custody. Area Central detectives were investigating.
