A West Side man was charged with aggravated DUI for crashing an SUV into the back of a minivan on South Lake Shore Drive late Sunday, sending a woman to the hospital in critical condition, authorities said.
Mareo T. Nutall, 32, of the 3500 block of West Arthington Street, was charged with one felony count of aggravated DUI causing accident/bodily harm and one felony count of aggravated DUI with a suspended or revoked license, according to Chicago Police.
Nutall was driving a 2000 GMC SUV southbound in the 4500 block of South Lake Shore Drive at 10:45 p.m. when it rear-ended a 2005 Chrysler minivan, according to police.
The impact sent the minivan careening over a curb and the 52-year-old female driver was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Nutall is expected in bond court Tuesday.
