A Wheaton man faces a burglary charge after a series of break-ins at a west suburban church.

Jason R. Schultz, 38, of the 700 block of Liberty in Wheaton, was arrested and charged with one count of burglary from a school or place of worship after a series of reported burglaries at St. Luke’s Evangelical Church in unincorporated Glen Ellyn, according to a release from the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office also received reports of burglaries at a school and two churches in the south Milton Township area.

Schultz allegedly damaged computer equipment and ate on the premises during break-ins at St. Luke’s, which primarily occurred in the evening or early morning hours, the release said.

He is currently being held at DuPage County Jail and is expected in bond court Thursday afternoon.
