WINFIELD — A man whose face was covered by a scarf robbed a west suburban bank early Thursday afternoon.

The robbery of the Fifth Third Bank at 1N111 County Line Road in Winfield about 11:50 a.m., according to FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde.

The robber, described by witnesses as a white man between 30 and 40 years old and about 5-foot-11 with dark eyes, wore a dark hat, dark coat, black gloves, and a bulky black and gray scarf that covered most of his face, according to the FBI.
