Man driven to hospital after early morning shooting in Roseland

A man was shot in the leg in the Roseland neighborhood on the far South Side early Thursday, police said.
The 27-year-old man was shot while walking on the sidewalk near West 92nd Street and South LaSalle Street about 4:30 a.m., police said.
The man told officers he heard gunshots and then “felt pain,” police said.
A concerned citizen drove the man to Little Company of Mary Hospital where he is listed in “stable” condition with a gunshot wound to the right thigh, said police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.
No one was in custody Thursday morning as Area South detectives investigated.
