A Crystal Lake Central High School student was charged Thursday with hiding a pinhole camera in a boys’ locker room.
Luke Patrick Gildea, 17, of Crystal Lake, was charged with one count each of felony unauthorized video recording and unauthorized video recording of a victim under 18, according to Crystal Lake police.
A student found the camera Thursday in the boys’ locker room at the school at 45 W. Franklin St. in Crystal Lake, police said.
The camera didn’t have the capability to stream video to a wireless system, police said. A forensic examiner will review any digital images recovered from the camera.
Gildea was transferred to McHenry County Jail and was scheduled to appear at a bond hearing at 8 a.m. Friday at the McHenry County Courthouse.
