South Side man dies from wound suffered in 2005 shooting

A 41-year-old man died early Thursday due to complications stemming from a gunshot wound he suffered in 2005, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Rodney Woods, of the 6100 block of South Rhodes, died at home as a result of the 2005 injury, the Medical Examiners’ office said.
Woods was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Hospitals at 1:35 a.m. Thursday, the Medical Examiner’s office said.
The exact circumstances of the shooting were unclear. Police said they could not immediately comment upon the shooting.
