Cops wake up driver sleeping on Borman Expy.

An alleged drunken driver was arrested Tuesday morning in northwest Indiana after a three-mile chase by police.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Ann Wojas said Ted E. Compton, 38, of Lake Village, was sleeping in his 2003 Ford Taurus at 12:19 a.m. when Sgt. Wanda Clay saw his car on the Borman Expy. between the right lane of the expressway and the Burr Street entrance ramp. Compton was asleep and his car engine was running.
Trooper Brian Rubesha knocked on the window to wake hime up, and Compton put the car in gear and took off. Police pursued him until him as he exited at Grant Street in Gary and pulled over onto the shoulder.
Compton arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail.
He’s facing three felony charged:operating while intoxicated, resisting arrest and being a habitual traffic violator, police said.
