Man killed in Austin shooting

A man was killed Saturday after he was shot in the throat in the Austin neighborhood, authorities said.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, was in the 4800 block of West Ferdinand Street when he was shot about 5:45 p.m., authorities said.
The man was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital where he died, police said.
An official for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the man died.
No one is in custody for the shooting, police said. Area North detectives are investigating.
