A purported gang member was ordered held in lieu $2 million bail Wednesday for allegedly shooting and killing a 13-year-old boy on the South Side over the summer.

Tyquan Tyler died after being shot in the chest around 1:30 a.m. on June 24 in an alley in the 6200 block of South Rhodes.

Nasean Flowers, a member of Jaro City Boys — a faction of the Gangster Disciples — was fighting with a rival gang and was seen entering an alley with another offender, assistant Cook County state’s attorney Jennifer Sexton said.

Flowers shot in the direction of Tyquan and others, hitting Tyquan, Sexton said.

After the shooting, Flowers was allegedly seen running with a weapon and into a vehicle that drove away.

Flowers, 23, of the 5200 block of South Langley, was arrested on Tuesday.

A source said it wasn’t believed that Tyquan was in a gang but he was socializing with gang members when he was gunned down.
