A Chicago man was arrested in Antioch with more than five pounds of marijuana after a drug-sniffing dog discovered the pot after a routine traffic stop.
Antioch Police said Monday they stopped Ali Faraj, 27, of the 5300 block of North Ashland, around 10 p.m. Friday.
An officer called for a K-9 unit to check out the vehicle and the dog made a positive hit on the vehicle, police said. Inside, officers found a large black bag with marijuana inside.
Faraj was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession with intent to deliver, speeding and driving an uninsured vehicle.
He was being held on $10,000 bond at the Lake County Jail.
He is scheduled to appear in Lake County Circuit Court on March 13 for a pretrial hearing.
