At least eight people were wounded in shootings across the city since Monday evening, police said.
The most recent shooting happened about 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 2200 block of West 71st in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police said. A 26-year-old man was shot in one of his legs and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in stable condition, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
In the 2400 block of West Huron in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood a male was shot in the left foot and left leg, Greer said. The male, whose age was not immediately available, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where his condition stabilized, Greer said.
About 10:45 p.m. in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, two men in their 30s were shot the 3300 block of West Washington, Greer said.
A 31-year-old man was shot in the leg, Greer said, and a 34-year-old man was shot in the thigh. Both men were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions stabilized, Greer said.
About 9:40 p.m., a man was shot in the back as he drove his vehicle in the 7200 block of South Champlain in Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, police said. Information about the man’s condition and the hospital where he was being treated was not immediately known.
About 8:55 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot as he stood outside his home in the 8300 block of South Carpenter in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, police said. The man was shot in the abdomen, Greer said, and the bullet exited through his back. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in critical condition, Greer said.
About 6:57 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in the arm in the 2100 block of North Tripp in the Hermosa neighborhood, police said. The man was listed in good condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.
About 5:10 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot multiple times in the back in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police said. The man was walking in the 6200 block of South Artesian when someone approached him from behind and opened fire, Greer said.
The man was listed in serious condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, Greer said.
Police have made no arrests in any of the shootings as area detectives investigate.
