An arrest warrant has been issued for a Massachusetts woman charged with stalking Cubs president Theo Epstein at his Lake View home last summer because she allegedly violated the conditions of her release.

A Cook County judge had ordered Kathleen Kearney be on GPS monitoring once she posted bond after her July 16, 2012, arrest on stalking charges, authorities said.

Court documents indicate she called her probation officer Jan. 11 and said she was at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Boston and was unable to charge her GPS device.

Kearney was admitted to the hospital after she began acting erratically a day earlier at an event at a Catholic school and church, according to court documents. Police were called and Kearney was taken to the hospital after a psychotic episode where she cut her hand in the parking lot.

She had no GPS charger when she was admitted to the hospital, according to the court records.

The Cook County state’s attorney’s office faxed an arrest warrant to the hospital and wants to extradite her from Boston to Chicago, court documents said.

She was scheduled to appear in court Thursday, but remained hospitalized.

Kearney graduated from Harvard University in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in English and Simmons College in 2002 with a master’s degree in library science.

Prosecutors said investigators had trouble determining whether Kearney had a criminal history because her fingers are scarred and she is missing some fingertips.
