Police: ‘person of interest’ in fatal Northwest Side fire

Police on Saturday said they were talking to “a person of interest” in connection to a fire this week that claimed the life of a 35-year-old Northwest Side woman.
Claudia Martinez died Thursday from the thermal injuries she suffered in the fire a day before at her home, in the 4300 block of North Kenneth, authorities said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office ruled her death a homicide.
No charges had been filed as of Saturday afternoon.
