Police were questioning a suspect early Thursday in connection to the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in the West Englewood neighborhood, police said.
About 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday in the 6300 block of South Paulina, a man forced the girl into a gangway where he sexually assaulted her at gunpoint, Chicago Police News Affairs officer Amina Grier said. The suspect then robbed the girl of her cellphone, iPod and cash.
The girl was taken to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, Grier said.
Police took one person into custody, but no charges had been filed as of early Thurday morning, Grier said.
