A 13-year-old boy has been charged after he was found with weapons at his Far Southeast Side school.
The teen had bullets on him at the playground in the 9900 block of South Exchange Avenue about 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. School administrators and security also learned he had a 3-inch folding knife in his pocket. The boy also told them he had found an unloaded gun and bullets, he placed them in his bookbag and [put the gun and bullets] in his locker,’ Mirabelli said.
No one was injured.
The teen was expected in Juvenile Court Thursday morning on a charge of unlawful use of a weapon.
