17-year-old shot, critically wounded on South Side

A 17-year-old boy was critically wounded in a shooting about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 7100 block of South Rockwell in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, Chicago Police said.
The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, according to Fire Media Affairs.
Police did not immediately have additional information on the shooting. Area South detectives were investigating.
