18-year-old man shot in head on Southwest Side

Police officers found an 18-year-old man lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head Sunday night on the Southwest Side, police said.
The man was shot in the side of the head about 10 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Western Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information. Officers discovered the injured young man after receiving a call that someone had been shot in the area, police said.
The man was listed in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Greer said.
Police have made no arrests as Area Central detectives investigate.
