A 57-year-old woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday for fatally stabbing her daughter’s boyfriend during a domestic disturbance in April on the West Side.
Sharon Burton pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, said Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokeswoman Lisa Gordon. She will be on two years of mandatory supervised release after she is discharged.
Burton, 57, of the 3600 block of West Franklin Boulevard, fatally stabbed 32-year-old Teddance Steele at 3:22 p.m. April 9 at his home, also in the 3600 block of West Franklin Boulevard, authorities said.
