Woman accused of driving over boyfriend

A Tinley Park woman accused of driving over her boyfriend during an argument Friday outside her southwest suburban home was ordered held on $100,000 bond.
Christine A. Meyers picked up her boyfriend from a bar and they began arguing as she drove back to her home in the 17700 block of South Ridgeland Avenue in Tinley Park, according to prosecutors and court documents.
When they arrived at Meyers’ home, her boyfriend got out of the vehicle and laid down in front of it, prosecutors said. Meyers then intentionally drove over him, causing “severe burns to [his] chest and back, and burned and tore the skin off his testicles.”
Meyers, 23, was charged with one count of felony aggravated domestic battery. Judge Adam D. Bourgeois scolded Meyers for becoming violent during an argument and ordered her held on $100,000 bond.
Meyers’ attorney said the boyfriend — who had lived with her — was out of the hospital and moved back in with his mother. Meyers has been arrested for previous driving offenses, the attorney said.
She will be back in court at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Bridgeview.
