A teenage gang member accused of murdering a man on a bike near his South Chicago home was denied bail Friday.

Dimitri Austin, 18, allegedly gunned down Antonio Singleton in the 8700 block of South Marquette on September 25.

When Singleton rode up to Austin and asked who he was, Austin — a member of the “12 Street Players” gang — pulled out a gun and fatally shot him multiple times, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Julie Nikolaevskaya said.

Austin, of the 8600 block of South Kingston, fled, but was later identified by an eyewitness, Nikolaevskaya said.

He was arrested at his home early Wednesday morning.

Judge Israel Desierto denied Austin bail during a brief court hearing Friday morning.
