Man attempts to kidnap teen girl in Washington Heights

A Chicago Police sketch of the suspect wanted for the attempted kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl Friday.
A man attempted to kidnap a 14-year-old girl Friday in the South Side Washington Heights neighborhood.
The girl was walking east on 93rd Street from Halsted Street about 7:36 a.m. when a man grabbed her backpack from behind and pulled her toward him, according to an alert from Area South detectives.
She was able to free herself and run to school, where she informed school personnel, the alert said.
The suspect is described as black with a dark complexion, 40-50, 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds with short black and gray dreadlocks, the alert said.
He was wearing a small rounded black cap, long calf-length trenchcoat, black pants and black gym shoes with silver trim, the alert said.
