Man fatally shot in chest in Pilsen neighborhood

A man died after he was shot multiple times in the chest Sunday night in the Pilsen neighborhood on the Southwest Side, authorities said.
Marzel Hicks, 35, was shot near his home in the 1300 block of West 13th Street about 8 p.m., authorities said.
Fire Media Affairs said Hicks was transported in critical condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he died a short while later, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Area Central detectives are investigating the shooting.
