Two in custody for fatal shooting in South Deering

Police had two persons of interest in custody after a man was fatally shot in the chest Friday afternoon in the South Deering neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened about 3:40 p.m. near East 99th Street and South Yates Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan, citing preliminary information.
Terrance Wright, 18, of the 5000 block of South Carpenter Street, was shot in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 4:31 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
An autopsy for Wright is scheduled for Saturday.
Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said two people were in police custody, but charges had not been filed as of Friday night.
Area South detectives are investigating.
