19-year-old man shot in Austin

A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg early Wednesday in the Austin neighborhood on the city’s West Side, police said.
The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of North Leamington Avenue when shots were fired about 2:30 a.m., said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.
Paramedics took the man in good condition to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said.
Police have made no arrests as Area North detectives continue their investigation.
The incident took place about a block away from where a 27-year-old man was wounded in a shooting early Tuesday.
The man was standing on the sidewalk when he heard gunfire and felt pain at 12:02 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of North Leamington Avenue, according to police News Affairs.
The man was shot in the buttocks and leg, police said.
He was taken in stable condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police.
