The death of a South Loop man who died at home after telling his family he was in a weekend fight outside a restaurant was ruled a homicide Tuesday, authorities said.
Joseph Sallas, 56, died of blunt-force trauma, the Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled.
Sallas, of the 1900 block of South State, told his family he was in a fight between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Sunday outside The Scout restaurant near 13th and Wabash. His family discovered his body in his home Monday, police said.
Detectives were interviewing witnesses Tuesday. No charges have been filed, police said.
