Man wounded in Edgewater shooting dies

A man died after being shot in the North Side Edgewater neighborhood Monday night.
The 21-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 6100 block of North Broadway about 9:30 p.m., officials said. Friends he was with drove him to the 5600 block of North Winthrop Avenue and flagged down police.
He was taken in critical condition to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston where he later died.
He was identified as David White of the 5100 block of North Oakley Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at 1 a.m.
Area North detectives are investigating.
