A jealous ex-boyfriend shot his girlfriend’s new lover, prosecutors say.
Melvin Laboy, 26, allegedly told Angel Burgos, 36, “I’m going to kill you,” before shooting him at his Belmont-Cragin home Saturday.
But Burgos survived a bullet wound to the shoulder, prosecutor Wendy Cáceres said.
Laboy, of the 2200 block of North Tripp, was charged with aggravated battery of a firearm and with violating an order of protection against his ex-girlfriend.
Judge James Brown on Sunday ordered him held on bail of $900,000.
