Chicago Police on Thursday released a description of a dump trunk that fatally struck a 72-year-old woman last month on the Southwest Side.

Kazmiera Falat, of the 6200 block of West 63rd Street, was struck by a vehicle on Aug. 24 at South Harlem Avenue and West 62nd Street, and pronounced dead at 7:35 p.m. that night at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police said Falat was walking across Harlem Avenue about 5:30 p.m. when a northbound dump truck hit her without stopping.

On Thursday, police described the truck as a red and white landscaping-type dump truck. The driver was described as a Hispanic man in his 40s with a goatee and heavy build.
