Two men were critically wounded in separate shootings Thursday afternoon on the South Side.
Somebody inside a gray, four-door Chevrolet shot a 25-year-old man about 3:50 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Rhodes Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala, citing preliminary information.
The man was struck in the chest and taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
At about 5:10 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in the chest and lower back near South Vincennes Avenue and West 115th Street, Zala said.
An acquaintance took the man to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
