A man is believed to have robbed two banks located inside Jewel groceries in the west and northwest suburbs.
About 11 a.m. Sunday, the suspect approached a teller at the TCF Bank branch inside Jewel at 2128 S. Mannheim Rd. in Westchester, according to the FBI.
He gave the teller a note demanding money and implied he had a weapon, which he did not display.
The suspect is described as black, in his mid 20s, and wearing a dark shirt and tan baseball cap, the FBI said.
A second man, wearing a grey sweatshirt and pants, and a blue baseball cap, was with the suspect, witnesses said.
The same suspect is believed to have robbed a TCF Bank branch in a Jewel at 2501 Schaumburg Rd. in Schaumburg about 2 p.m. Sunday. A man matching the description of the Westchester robber presented a note and implied he had a weapon.
The robber fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash in both robberies.
