A man was fatally wounded in a shooting Monday night in the South Side Grand Crossing neighborhood.
The 19-year-old man -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as Demetrius Tribett -- was shot multiple times about 11 p.m. near his home in the 7800 block of South Ellis Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with gunshot wounds to the abdomen, neck and arm, Gaines said.
He was pronounced dead there at 12 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
No one was in custody early Tuesday.
Area South detectives are investigating.
