Man, teenage boy wounded in Englewood shooting

A man and teenage boy were wounded in an Englewood shooting Thursday afternoon on the South Side.
A 22-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were on the sidewalk in the 7400 block of South Ashland Avenue about 2:50 p.m. when several unknown males approached and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said the 15-year-old boy was shot in the ankle and taken to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, while the man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with a gunshot wound to the side. The man was in serious condition and the boy was listed in good condition.
No one is in custody and Area South detectives are investigating.
