Man tries to rob car at Burger King drive-through

A 33-year-old north suburban man has been charged with reaching into a car waiting in a Burger King drive-through and trying to rob the driver and passenger at knifepoint.
About 12:50 a.m. on June 19, police responded to an attempted armed robbery outside the Burger King at 2125 N. Lewis in Waukegan, a release from Waukegan police said.
The victims told police tthe man reached into their vehicle with a knife while they were at the drive-through and attempted to rob them. The victims were able to drive off and the offender fled the area. One of the victims suffered a minor injury to her neck, police said.
Detectives were led to Bobby G. Dodd III, 33, of the 2800 block of Pine Street in Waukegan as a possible suspect. On Wednesday, Dodd admitted to his involvement, police said.
He was charged with attempted armed robbery and burglary to motor vehicle, and was expected to appear for a bond hearing in court Thursday in Waukegan.
