At least one person was shot and a female was struck by a vehicle in the same incident Saturday morning in the North Side Lincoln Park neighborhood. A third person was also wounded, although the nature of that person’s wounds remained unclear.

Officers responded to the report of a shooting in front of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum on North Cannon Drive about 4 a.m., police said, citing preliminary information.

One male was shot in the shoulder in the 2400 block of North Cannon Drive and a female was struck by a vehicle, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

Unconfirmed dispatch reports indicated two people were shot at the address and a third person, a female, was struck by an SUV making a u-turn that fled the scene.

Chicago Fire Department paramedics transported two people to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and one person to Northwestern Memorial Hospital from the scene, according to Fire Media Affairs.

The condition, ages and hospital information for all three were not immediately available.

Area North detectives are investigating.

No one was in custody Saturday morning.
