Three critically wounded in South Shore shooting

Three men were critically wounded early Saturday in a shooting in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.
The three men, ages 18, 22 and 23, were shot near the intersection at 71st Street and Chappel Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs.
The group were standing on the street when a person got out of a gray vehicle and shot them before getting back in the car and fleeing southbound on Chappel Avenue, police said.
The 22-year-old man was shot multiple times in the torso while the 23-year-old was shot in the back and the 18-year-old was shot in the buttocks, police said.
All three were taken from the scene in serious-to-critical condition – the 22-year-old was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. The 23-year-old man was also critically injured. He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
The 18-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and listed in stable condition at Stroger Hospital, police said.
No one was in custody early Saturday. Area Central detectives are investigating.
