Six people were arrested Tuesday afternoon in the Loop while protesting the recent closure of six city mental health clinics.
The protesters at the city’s Department of Public Health office at 333 S. State St., staging a “mock funeral” for a fellow protester who died recently, at the time of the arrests, said Matt Ginsberg-Jaeckle, a spokesman for the protesters.
At the time, protesters were calling for Health Commissioner Dr. Bechara Choucair to resign and they were refusing to leave the building until he agreed to step down.
Chicago Police confirmed that six people were arrested on suspicion of trespassing.
