Man found dead with multiple gunshot wounds on the South Side

A man was found dead in the street with multiple gunshot wounds on the South Side early Tuesday.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 3900 block of South Federal Street about 3:09 a.m., and found the man, approximately 40 years old, dead with multiple gunshot wounds, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.
Someone driving by saw the man in the street and called 911, Kubiak said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office described him as a man in his 30s but had not identified him Tuesday morning.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
